Why did you start dancing?
I had a friend in school when I was younger, I was about 8 years old, she would always tell me about her dance lessons. Then one day, I signed up for the same hip-hop class as her. It was the first hobby that I really found fun. When I was young, I had a hard time finding a sport or hobby that was interesting and to my liking.
You are part of a trio as part of Les Chantiers de création. What is your theme? How or why did you choose this one?
Daphne thought of the concept, so I asked her to help me develop this answer. Here are her words:
Our concept comes from the thought of a wave that we had in connection with meditation sessions. The three of us all agree that guided meditations bring us a little more stress than relaxation. We wanted to take the irony of this point further by creating a similar universe for the public. We are also fascinated by the importance of breathing in a body during movement. We wanted to challenge ourselves to incorporate breath as a source of inspiration and accompaniment to our choreography.
The show is fast approaching, do you have some feelings more than others? Are you nervous, excited, stressed, ready, etc.?
I feel ready for this year's show, I have done several dance shows, so I am now comfortable dancing in front of people. There's always a little bit of a nervous feeling before the show, but the three of us are very excited to present our piece this year.
What is your favorite activity during the winter season?
Personally, I don't like bad weather and cold temperatures, but every now and then I like to go skating with my friends.
Do you have any idea of the kind of career, job or profession you would like to do in your life?
I'm still thinking about it, even though it's fast approaching. I wish I could still move and make things exciting.
Imagine yourself already in your thirties, forties or fifties… .. Are you still dancing?
I hope I am still dancing and having fun doing it. I would love to stay in shape when I'm in my 50s...
«...even if it's just dancing in my kitchen!»
